I love how consistent French Girls are: if it works, stick with it.
Even though after 15 years in France, I am in London now, I still look at French girls for inspiration. For me consistency, ease and cool, wrapped in classic items, is all I need in a wardrobe. I get so much inspiration just from walking around here, but I must admit, that it requires too much effort for me to dress like a London Girl. Look at someone as Laura Bailey, she always looks amazing, but who can dress like her? I just don't have the time or mental energy left.
But French girls got it down. Take Josephine le Tutour, a French model , she doesn't veer off the French path; trench coat, check, striped blouse, off the shoulder white top, denim shirt and navy sweater, these are the absolute first basics you need for that je ne said quoi allure on top ( you know I couldn't resist).
Then you just add fun, edge, and glamour with accessories.
Gorgeous sunglasses, a silk scarf, the right bag, some beach waves, or a blinding smile.
Something that isn't discussed a lot, but captures me about this photos, is the undone quality; Josephine clearly doesn't iron her clothes, and I know some of you will recoil in horror, but I love how her shirt look in the third picture. Effortless style they take it quite literally. Sure it helps if you are a natural beauty, and it doesn't fly at a conservative workplace. But I am going for it, that just tumble out of bed, rumpled look, hoping it is more sexy than scary, and if it isn't I will blame it on my homesickness for wonderful France.
Option one rocker chic, option 2 is more girlie/pretty.
Option one is supersoft, option two to get that same I just got out of bed look.
Option one, if you want something to hold it up, option 2 to go full on nude.
Option 1 I buy men's sweaters, they are cut differently, and I find them strangely more feminine, option 2 for a cropped trendy version.
