Some of my fondest memories of the places I lived were the days I wandered around, without plan. My favorite cities are the ones you that are so sprawled out, you end up getting lost, like Rome, or Los Angeles discovering your new favorite haunts on the way.
London, is the same. Yesterday I headed to a furniture store in Hackney and and ended up walking for miles. I even rented a bike, along the way, the weather was glorious, the streets devoid of traffic, my phone died, and when I really thought I was lost, my new favorite street popped up.
Stoke Newington Church street, you could spend a perfect day here, checking out all the independent boutiques and cafe's, picking up flowers, organic skin care, stationary, and gorgeous furniture. And the best part, at the end is Clissold Park, where you can have a picnic on the lawn of a lovely manor ( and if you have kids, there's a petting zoo, and butterfly dome).
My favorite shops in the street:
Search & Rescue- an insanely well curated store of beauty products, ceramics and stationary.
Hub a boutique stocking Wood Wood, Etre Cecile and the best Breton shirts
And Botanique a flower shop with two adorable dogs that you can stalk on Instagram here.
